microINR

Chips

The microINR Chip is a disposable plastic test strip, that encloses two microcapillary channels, of extremely simple construction and fully passive (i.e. no built-in sensors, nor electrodes, nor external pumping).

microINR

Microfluidics Chips

The INR determination is achieved through sample flow monitoring along the microcapillary channels of the Chip, following the activation of the coagulation cascade. The current IVD test mimics the conditions of “in vivo” hemostasis, also referred as “ex vivo”

microINR

Entry Channel

The blood sample introduction is performed through the entry channel, where the sample flows by capillary action

microINR

Reaction Chambers

After blood sample application on the Chip, the coagulation cascade is activated by a microdispensed amount of recombinant thromboplastin reagent

microINR

Microcapillary channels

INR determination is performed through capillary blood flow monitoring along microfluidic channels.

microINR

Control Channel

Parallel control channel to check reagent integrity

microINR

Measurement Channel

When clotting, blood undergoes a change on the behavior and, thus, a sudden flow rate decay, which is detected by an embedded Machine Vision System (MVS)

microINR

Datamatrix

The measured prothrombin time is converted into INR using lot-specific calibration parameters microprinted on the Chip surface (Datamatrix)
